One issue during weddings is keeping the kids occupied. There is enough open space and playground equipment and friendly cats here to keep the kids occupied for hours. Our family stayed over and the adults enjoyed conversation and activities before and after the wedding. We had our own private party on the porch of one of the cottages, and it turned into a wedding / quiet family reunion that lasted into the early hours of the morning. The kids and adults were fascinated by the solar panels, heat pumps and the artwork throughout the premises. The outdoor wedding and the indoor reception afterward were everything the bride and groom wanted. The place is far enough away from everything to be able to enjoy the woodlands, yet within twenty minutes of a shopping center if you really need it. We will definitely come back here again for other family weddings.
Although the wedding it's self was beautiful the bed and breakfast room my boyfriend and I stayed in was unacceptable. The moment you walked in the smell of musk and mildew was over powering and the air was very damp even though the weather outside was not. The air conditioning was not working and there were bugs EVERYWHERE. While showering not one but 3 spiders came down from the ceiling into the shower with me. When I got out of the shower I grabbed a towel that the b&b offered (which smelled of mildew very bad) and was greeted by a huge flying insect of some sort. Then when I went to lay down I looked behind the pillow on the bed only to find more spiders making webs along the corner of the wall then looked up on the ceiling to find to endless webs and decent sized spiders in all of the corners. It was like the room had not been cleaned or taken care of for months. I had to find blankets in my car to cover the bed and sleep on the other side of the bed so I wasn't sleeping close to the spider wall. For a bed and breakfast this seemed unacceptable to me.

I stayed here for my sister's wedding. It is a very quaint place. It Is by no means modern or extremely clean, but that is part of the Allure I suppose. There were a bunch of ladybugs that lived in our room with us. It was interesting to find out that they cuddle together and then corners of the ceiling when it gets cold. The hosts were very accommodating. The night before my sister was to get married the water pump broke. The hosts did everything possible to ensure that water pressure was restored as quickly as possible. Within 5 hours of them being notified that the water was not running, they had a full crew of plumbers there ready to replace the pump. They also had lovely support staff and made some really delicious breakfasts. They also have a lot of adorable and sweet cats on the property if that is your thing.
This was an amazing experience. The staff is friendly, caring and will meet your every need. The fact that you get to bring in your own vendors is super important and awesome. If I were to get married all over again it would definitely be here.
My best friends had a wedding at the pump house a few weekends ago and it was an absolutely beautiful venue! From the scenery for pictures, the rustic feel of the reception area, and the beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, everything was perfect. One of my favorite parts was the sweet cats running around, crazy cat lady here!
